[Gabriel and Aziraphale] But I won't run, I'm not ashamed
"Life has gotta kill,
Faith is gonna blind,
Hope is gonna fade,
The truth is gonna lie,
Sometimes there's no reason,
To justify the meaning"
Characters: (SPN) Gabriel and Aziraphale
Worlds fractured. Rips in space and time opened portals to different dimensions and alternate Earths. Wasn't that just wonderful? As if he didn't have enough to deal with, different versions of his brothers just made things even better. That was all sarcasm in his inner voice, in case anyone was wondering. He just wanted to live peacefully with humans, harass them from time to time, but only those that deserved it. He left the good folk alone.
Happenstance didn't seem to care how he felt. Fate was a super bitch. He would know. She was one of his sisters, after all. One of those rips had opened and he'd fallen through. Immediately, he recognised the street. He was somewhere in Soho. London. England. Just a bit out of his norm, but at least it was still Earth. He could feel another, someone with Grace. No, two? Three. Three angels in a bookshop of all places? Now if that wasn't hilarious from where he was standing, but that didn't matter. Two of those angels he recognised. The third? He wasn't of Gabriel's world. So he must be a native here. Why were his brothers picking on a native angel?
Gabriel appeared in the bookshop just in time to see Lucifer grab a redheaded man in shades by the back of the neck, an angel blade to his throat. The man in Lucifer's grasp was odd. An angel and not an angel at the same time? His soul looked like an angel but he had a snake twisted through it. Weird. He also distinctly lacked a Grace, which further confused him. An angel without a Grace was human, but this one was still part angel somehow? Either way, if Lucifer had the man captive, this was far from a good omen. His brother was threatening the blonde angel. Something about demanding aid in rebooting the apocalypse. Go figure. Lucifer would try to enlist the help of alternate brothers and sisters to fight. It just appeared that he'd assumed this angel, hanging out with whatever the dark haired not!angel was, would be someone that might be swayed to his side.
"I'll keep him nice and safe while you consider my offer. It's not a bad deal. You help me and you and this mutated monstrosity can live happily ever after in my world where no angels will bother you. Think about it. But not too long. Wouldn't want me to get impatient..." The threat was punctuated by Lucifer dragging the tip of the blade down Crowley's neck. It sizzled and cut far too deep for the light touch, drawing bright flashes of light from the cut as if it had cut clear into Crowley's soul rather than his corporation. Well, that was because it had. "Pray to me when you've made up your mind. I'll hear it."
"Lucifer, stop--" Gabriel reached out to grab his brother's arm, but the Devil just smiled, winked, and was gone with Crowley. He stared at the empty spot where the Archangel had been. He could feel his brother's presence was gone. Likely having stolen away back to their wold.
Gabriel glanced over to the blonde angel. "You can't bend to his demands." No 'hello'. No 'sorry, my brother is a big old bag of dicks'. Nope. Just that.
